Scholarships & Bursaries

Scholarships

The entry examinations for Perrott Hill Scholarships take place in the spring term of each year. We will be offering 9+ and 11+ scholarships, which are sat by children in Year 4 and 6 for September entry into Years 5 and 7 respectively.

Standardised tests are used for fair comparison of academic results while children also have the opportunity to show off individual talent and potential in other areas such as Sport, Music, Drama and Art/DT.

Academic Scholarship: Awarded for outstanding performance in a variety of academic tests.

Academic Exhibition: Awarded for very strong performance in various academic tests and in recognition of high academic potential.

All-Rounder Scholarship: Awarded for a strong performance in the academic tests, combined with a high degree of excellence or demonstration of potential in one or more of the following areas: Art, Music, Sport, Drama.

Sport, Drama, Art and Music Scholarships or Exhibitions: Irrespective of academic performance, an award may be made for excellence or potential in any of these areas.

Award recognition/acceptance: All awards are made in good faith based upon the talents and potential of the children. It is expected that most parents will wish to take up the offer of fee remission in recognition of their child’s award and an acceptance should be made in writing to the Headmaster.

It is, however, also acknowledged that some pupils are entered with the sole aim of achieving recognition for their talents, rather than the fee remission associated with it. In such cases parents are encouraged to pass on any percentage of the fee remission awarded and this sum would then be added to the school’s bursary fund.

Parents of pupils currently at the school should note that new awards made are in replacement of, not in addition to, any existing awards and bursaries.
