"Perrott Hill has been a great school while I have been here and improves every year..."

Co-educational - The school is fully co-educational with approximately 110 boys and 95 girls.

Age range - The Prep School starts in Year 3, when the children are 7 years old, and they then leave the school at the end of Year 8, normally at the age of 13.

Class sizes - Most academic years in the Prep School are divided into two classes. The average class size is 15.

Academic streaming – The classes are academically streamed from Year 5 onwards. Until then classes are formed on a purely social basis. The staff and headmaster discuss each child before a decision is made. They then talk to the parents individually. Often children benefit by being at the top of the B stream rather than struggling in the A stream. There is still movement between the two streams until Year 8.  The pupils start to concentrate on the Common Entrance or scholarship syllabus from Year 7.

Form Tutor – Each child at the school has his/her own class tutor who is also very involved in their pastoral care. The tutor has contact with the child every day.  Parents can email the tutor or arrange a meeting if they have any concerns.

Teachers – Perrott Hill has a vibrant and enthusiastic team. Many potential parents comment on the unusually respectful and good humoured relationships they see between teachers and pupils.
