In the Montessori Nursery and Reception classes the emphasis is on 'how to learn'. From Year 1 the curriculum is based on the National Curriculum, but more able pupils are encouraged to learn beyond these constraints and those who find the work more difficult receive support. All classes have provision for French from the age of 3 upwards.
Years 1 and 2 are taught by class teachers in most subjects, but there is also specialist provision in certain areas: French, Music, ICT and PE.
In Years 3 and 4 the core subjects (English/Maths/Science) are taught by their form tutors, with more input from specialist teachers in other subjects as appropriate: History, Geography, RE, ICT, PE, French and Art. Classes are set socially, rather than by ability, in these years.

From Years 5 to 8 classes are set by ability, depending upon the number of pupils in the year group, and specialist teachers teach all subjects.
The subjects currently on the curriculum are:
English
Mathematics
Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry)
French
Latin (from Year 5)
History
Geography
Art
Music
Religious Studies
PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education)
