The school's Pre-Prep thrives in the beautifully converted stable courtyard adjacent to the main school buildings. This is a safe and self-contained area with a rubberised playground. From their own secure environment our youngest have the benefit of the grounds of the main school and often have nature walks and regularly play on the front lawns.

Children join at aged 3, spending 2/3 years on our Montessori Foundation Course before moving on to Year 1 and Year 2.

Class sizes are small and great emphasis is placed on encouraging the children to support each other and 'to learn how to learn'.

Fundamental principles of numeracy and literacy are taught and children are able to use the main school facilities such as the Sports Hall and IT suite. All Pre-Prep children have regular PE lessons and a weekly swimming lesson at the Crewkerne Aqua Centre. Ballet and musical instrument tuition are among the optional activities available.
