July 2010 - Leavers' play Oliver - a brilliant production that was enjoyed by all.

July 2010 - Congratulations to Samuel Y who came 4th in the 100m at the IAPs National Athletics Finals in Birmingham. 

July 2010 - The charity this term was 'Against Malaria' and the children raised over £3,300 by swimming the Channel (using the school swimming pool).

July 2010 - Expedition Days - Every year group from the Nursery upwards enjoyed a visit to somewhere.  The Montessori had a day at Longleat - touching snakes and holding spiders.  Grace even had her head pecked by a parrot.

June 2010 - The leavers had a fantastic week in Cornwall; walking, surfing, visiting the Eden Project, The Tate, Barbara Hepworth Museum and The Minack Theatre.   There was also plenty of time to relax, play on the beach and enjoy each other's company. 

June 2010 - Common Entrance results.   Excellent results, some pupils gaining straight As in all subjects.   Every pupil got into the school of their choice.

June 2010 - Sports Day - A number of school records and personal records were broken.   The sun shone and as always it was a magical day - with much joy, some disappointment, and the houses enjoying good natured rivalry.

June 2010 - Outdoor Day 2010 - Another hugely successful outdoor day for the whole school.  The children were organised into groups of mixed ages and had a variety of challenges and activiites:  pond digging, raft building, clearing and replanting the eco garden, cooking, nature trails and lunch in the outside classroom.

May 2010 - Years 5 & 6 Story Telling Competition.   Congratulations to Lorcan CC who came first, 2nd Daisy M and 3rd Finlay H.

May 2010 - The Inter-House Music Competition was great fun, and for the first time open to parents who enjoyued the variety and enthusiasm of the children with individual, group and whole house performances.  Winners were Quantocks, by a very narrow margin, and when considering the limited practice time, the standards achieved were excellent.

April 2010 - Years 7 & 8 children have a 3 hour session with the team from 'Standing Tall', learning the importance of deportment, good manners and courtesy.   This culminated in a formal three course meal in the dining room.

March 2010 - With a new Director of Music, the Spring Concert had a slightly different format and all the parents and children were impressed by the quality of singing and music produced.   An impressive standard.

March 2010 - Year 6 presents a play in the theatre 'Roald Dahl's The Witches'.   A dramatic production with explosions and smoke.   Bridget M was a terrifying witch.

March 2010 - The scholarship record has been broken:  18 awards have been awarded to a group of 30 children!  

March 2010 -  The Year 7s French Trip had an exciting new format.  The pupils had a day in Paris, climbing the Eiffel Tower, wlaking down the Champs Elysees and visiting Montmartre.   They also had a chance to see the Bayeux Tapestry, D-Day beaches along with a war grave cemetery.   It was a wonderful time for the year group as a whole.

February 2010 - Scholarship news - Rollo gains an All Rounder Scholarship to Bryanston and Quentin is awarded the top Art Scholarship to Bryanston.  Grace gains an Academic Award to Leweston.

February 2010 - Richard Field, from The Good School's Guide, came to give the Year 8s interview practice. 

February 2010 - The English Department organised a visit from 'The Poetry' Slam.  All children from Years 1-8 took part.

January 2010 - Scholarships to senior schools are underway and Lucie gains a Hayward Award to King's College, Taunton.

January 2010 -  National IAPS Badminton Finals.  Chris and Edmund win The Plate award at the National Finals.

January 2010 - The Big Freeze.    Very deep snow and very cold for some considerable time.   There were very challenging road conditions for the week before the beginning of term and the first week of term.   Most families managed to get to school but others were definitely snowed in.

December 2009 - The Carol Service - The Chamber Choir were outstanding and Milli Bowley sang  the first verse of 'Once in Royal David's City' quite beautifully.

December 2009 - The Christmas Show  - A mixture of music, dance and sketches by the pupils.  The highlight had to be the most incredible 'Thriller' dance by Years 3 and 4 choregraphed by Stuart Carr, one of the GAP students. 

December 2009 - U11 Hockey Team come 3rd at the IAPS National Finals at Queenswood.   It was a long but very exciting day and the team did incredibly well.

November 2009 -  Will Silk is appointed the new Pastoral Deputy Head.  Will comes from Beaudesert Park in Gloucestershire with his wife, Lucy, and three children.   He will join Perrott Hill in September 2010.

November 2009 - The Chamber Choir sang at the evening Advent Service at Misterton Church.  Robert Morse, headmaster, said, 'It was a lovely event and the choir sang beautifully.'

November 2009 - Feltonfleet visited Perrott Hill on the 70th Anniversary of the school's evacuation to Perrott Hill in August 1939.   We were delighted to welcome so many Feltonfleet families.   The annual matches have become a  fixture in the Autumn Term calendar and the matches were exciting to watch.  Perrott Hill 1st XV triumphed, as did the U13 Hockey team, however the Netball team missed out on victory this time.

November 2009 - Year 4's presented 'Fiends Reunited'.    The Year 4s played to a very full house on Friday afternoon.  The play, loosely based on the tale of Sleeping Beauty, was bright, fun and full of songs and laughter.   A number of the boys and girls confidently sang solos - impressive at 8 years old.  The young thespians threw themselves into their parts with gusto; every line could be heard and there was some really good acting and dancing.   

November 2009 - Helicopter Tow at RNAS Yeovilton.   The Year 8 pupils managed to raise £2,300 after towing a Sea King helicopter 1.5 miles along the runway at Yeovilton one chilly Sunday afternoon.  Many thanks to all the navy personnel who made this possible.   Harvey Walsh (Headboy) was thrilled to be there with his father who was departing on a tour of Afghanistan for 3 months the next day.

October 2009 - Charity Week - Help for Heroes.    Having had a very sensitive and thought provoking talk from an ex-marine, the children threw themselves into fundraising for this charity with real enthusiasm and drive.   Each year group raised money in different ways, from a giant conga that snaked its way through the school grounds to funny socks and much more.   Well done to all. 

October 2009 - The Big Draw.   The week before half term the stage was transformed into a giant canvas and every child in the school was involved in creating a dramatic interpretation of the school's environment; from school buildings, to people to tiny little insects.   Thanks go to Sara Best, Head of Art, and Lottie Morse.

October 2009 - Hallowe'en came early to PH.  The boarding weekend was oversubscribed - over 50 children enjoyed a fun packed Hallowe'en Party, with the brave going on a nightwalk with the staff.   Then the Morses entertained 25 children to supper on Sunday evening.

October 2009 - The Parents v Staff rugby match on Sunday 4th October was a huge success - the staff won and much fun was had by all.  

September 2009 - The girls entered two teams for the show jumping at Leweston.

September 2009 - The Year 8s had a hugely successful Geography and team building expedition to Exmoor for two days.   The sun shone for the two days of hiking and team challenges.

September 2009 - Perrott Hill welcomes its largest intake yet.  New children join most year groups in the school.   Boarding is busy and popular.  

September 2009 - The Music Wing has been been redecorated and the boarding area's refurbishment has begun.  The common rooms are looking great!

July 2009 - Richard Biggs, the headmaster of King's College Taunton, gives a thought provoking speech at prize giving.

July 2009 - Lottie Morse and the Year 8s produce an amazing fast and funny adaptation of 'Bugsy Malone'.   There were some brilliant performances and the set and costumes were stunning.

June 2009 -  The whole school enthusiastically takes part in an Eco Outdoor Day.  All the lessons took place in the extensive grounds.    The activities were numerous; from restoring the Victorian steps to making a pizza oven.

June 2009  - The Year 8 Leavers enjoy a week in Brittany as part of their leavers' programme.    They enjoy their dinner and dance at Perrott Hill at the end of the month.

11th June 2009  -  Congratulations to all who took Common Entrance.   100% pass rate to a number of  different schools locally and nationally.    There were some very impressive results.

May 2009 - Mr Morse, the headmaster, and Mr Warlow, the housemaster, take the boarders to the North Coast of Devon for some seriously good surfing.

May 2009 - The winners of the Farm Safety Poster Competition have a special day out at the Bath and West Show with Mrs Best.

May 2009 - Charlie Smith is awarded an All Rounder Scholarhip to King's School, Bruton.

May 2009 - The very popular 'It's a knock out boarding weekend' is a tremendous success as always and the places quickly filled up.

May 2009 - The Year 7s have a super week in Paris with their French families.   They see a number of the well known landmarks and climb and explore most of them.

April 2009 - Year 7 pupils welcome their French exchanges from Paris.   The French children stay here for a week and they really enjoy  the space and freedom that Perrott gives them.

March 2009 - Jasper Mallinson is awarded the DT Scholarship to Bryanston.  Charlie Barnes-Yallowley is awarded an All Rounder Scholarship to King's College, Taunton and Iona Oliphant is awarded an All Rounder Scholarship to Sherborne Girls.

February 2009 - Harriet Smith is awarded an Academic Exhibition to Sherborne Girls.   Alexandra Blanchard is awarded an Academic Scholarship to St Swithin's, Winchester.

February 2009 - Due to the snow Perrott Hill's Scholarship Day is postponed from Friday 6th February to Monday 23rd Febraury.

February 2009 - Pembroke House, from Kenya, visit the school for the weekend.   Some very exciting and close hockey matches are played in the sports hall.

February 2009 - Somerset sees its worst snow for many, many years. However Perrott Hill is open for business!   Between 60 and 90 children thoroughly enjoy snow ball fights and endless hot chocolate!  Fun is had by both pupils and staff.

January 2009 - Robert and Lottie Morse, with Daisy and Harry, join Perrott Hill.  Robert takes over as Headmaster, having spent a number of weekends and days at the school the previous term.

December 2008- Christmas Carol Service - A wonderful way to say goodbye to Mike and Isabelle Davies.  The Year 8 readers learn their lessons off by heart and the music is beautiful, especially Iona Oliphant's solo 'Ave Maria'. 

November 2008 - Quentin Martin wins the Herrings Art Competition.

November 2008 - Andy Caddick opens the new sports hall and indoor cricket nets.

October 2008 - Year 4 present 'Zac and the Sausages'.  Congratulations to Mr Coverdale and Year 4 for their play'.  There were many memorable performances, especially James Poe as the wizard and Lara Bracher as the teacher. 

October 2008 - MEDIEVAL DAY.   John Warlow, Head of History, organises an incredible day for the whole school from the Montessori to Year 8.   Knights joust on horseback on the front field and birds of prey fly over the school.   There are children making tapestries, stained glass windows and castles.   Everyone looks the part in their costumes and the head chef, Tony, produces a scrumptious hog roast.  

September 2008 - New Buildings in use.  With so much rain, the children are relieved and rather impressed by the size of the new Sports Hall.   It is a vast and versatile space.  

June 2008 - Ofsted Report on the Montessori Nursery . Helen Smith and the team in the Montessori are thrilled with the hugely positive and successful outcome of this report.

June 2008 - Leavers' Trip to Carantec.   The pupils and staff stay in a house near the beach on the Brittany Coast and have a memorable week together before going their separate ways at the end of term.    The days are action packed and the competitions fierce - much laughter can be heard.   This year is no exception, snails are cooked and in some cases eaten - not everyone is brave! 

May 2008 - Year 7 Paris Exchange.  36 pupils have a very happy and positive cultural experience, spending a week in Paris with French families and members of staff from Perrott Hill.   The best exchange yet according to some.

February 2008 - ISI (Ofsted) Report.  The headmaster, staff and governors are absolutely delighted by the ISI Report which was highly successful and recognises the special qualities of Perrott Hill.  'The school's aim to provide the highest standards of academic teaching for all pupils in its care is met very effectively' and 'Pupils' social development is outstanding'.   There is so much more.  For a copy of the complete report please contact the school.
