Food - Perrott Hill

Our next Open Morning is on Friday 17th May 2024 - Click here for information

Food

Each term’s menu, repeated on a three-weekly rotation, is planned in advance by the school’s chef, Ray Bickham, in conjunction with the Food Committee, which is made up of staff members and pupils.

Menus are well-balanced and the food is all prepared on the premises. The menu is a blend of traditional British food and dishes from other parts of the world and the children are encouraged to try everything. The kitchen always offers a vegetarian option, as well as catering for those with food allergies. The school also aims to source food locally: local fruit and vegetables are served whenever possible and the eggs are all organic and free range.

Breakfast

As well as each day’s menu selection (for example eggs, bacon, croissants and pain au chocolat) fresh fruit, a selection of cereals, toast (white and wholemeal), fruit juice, tea, jams and spreads are served.

Morning Break

Juices, water, milk, fresh fruit and a selection of biscuits are provided.

Lunchtime

Our lunchtime meals adhere to the recommended daily intake of fruit, vegetables, carbohydrates and proteins to maintain a healthy balanced diet. All dietary requirements are catered for and a salad bar provides an alternative to the main hot meals available.

Afternoon break

Juices, water, milk, a selection of sandwiches (savoury or sweet) and fresh fruit are available. The Nursery has its own list of food for afternoon break which is available to view in the classroom.

After school care

Children staying for after school care in the Pre-Prep are offered additional sandwiches and drinks at 4:45pm.

Supper

Supper is served at 6pm and is a substantial meal served in a homely, relaxed atmosphere.
